As of December 20, 2023, K. Lefkofsky & Vienna Co (KLV) officially joined forces with Atlas Wholesale Food Company (Atlas).

KLV, a locally-owned wholesale food distributor, has maintained customer loyalty for multiple decades as a result of relentless focus on values that are very well aligned with Atlas’s Core Values, especially “Customer Centered” and “Think & Act like an Owner”.  KLV has been providing similar products to what Atlas already offers, mainly serving delis in the Southeast Michigan region. As part of the acquisition, Atlas is delighted about creating and deepening relationships with new and existing customers and vendors, and adding a talented group of individuals to the Atlas employee/contractor family.

With the continued support of the KLV’s and Atlas’s loyal customers, this combination will propel us all forward to a future of success.

Atlas and KLV will continue to operate as separate companies with common management and oversight.  Over time, Atlas and KLV will assess the many opportunities that this combination affords.  There are no plans to reduce staff.  This combination will be focused on developing synergies that create value and promote growth for generations to come.

In his letter to customers, Atlas CEO John Kohl stated: “I would like to take a moment to acknowledge the history between myself (John) and Marty Cook, the late owner of KLV. For many years, Marty and I discussed the possibility of joining forces, and today, we honor his legacy by making that vision a reality. Marty’s commitment to customer-centered values aligns seamlessly with Atlas’s Core Values, and we are proud to carry forward his legacy.”

Business will be conducted the same as usual, however, effective December 20, 2023, customers should change the name on all payments to Atlas Wholesale Food Company.
